“What would I do if humanity was my client?”
I see the core of my job as an executive coach as helping leaders become the best leader (and the best person) they can be, so they can lead humanity toward a better future.
One day, I challenged myself to imagine humanity itself as my client. How would I help her? The direction was immediately clear: I’d help humanity self-actualize at the species level… to become fully human in the wisest way available.
Here’s what followed.
The Superhumanist Manifesto
Most uses of the word superhuman presuppose the inferiority of being human, they aspire to go beyond it. I use it differently: super as in to a high degree. Superhumanism is the proposition to leverage advanced technologies to become more/fully human, and self-actualize individually and collectively. It’s a direction of effort, a northstar rather than a policy or blueprint.

A community to think together about our relationship with technology. We can’t leave humanity’s future to systemic constraints, power structures, and conflicting incentives — even the best-intentioned. It’s time to claim our agency in the seismic shifts on the horizon.
Learn moreHumane Futures
A nonprofit built to incubate the projects this work was calling for. I named it Humane Futures because I want dignity not only for humans, but for all beings. Dignity for all beings is my core value — and the one I think most at risk in the era we’re entering.
Learn moreVisions of the Future
A global imagination project. We host non-technical, community-powered hackathons where people from all walks of life write short vignettes of futures worth living in, then bring them to life with AI-generated art — feeding a published anthology, a traveling gallery exhibit, and a growing archive of human longing and possibility.
AI Philosophy Nights
Philosophy doesn’t belong only in academia — it’s the activity these times most ask of us, and we’re living, again, in a golden age of it. Each month I bring in philosophers, historians, technologists, and social scientists for a high-level fireside chat, followed by small-group, salon-style discussion. Communal sense-making, out loud.
